The Spokane Indians used a great performance from Dale Swiatowy, who is tied for 9th in the NWL with a 9.5 K/9 rate, to beat the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, 3-0, at Volcanoes Stadium. Swiatowy got the win, improving to 3-1. He gave up 5 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed no runs. Richard Reynolds was credited with the save for Spokane, his 8th of the season.

Phil Partyka had a direct impact on the outcome. Partyka contributed a solo home run in the top of the second inning to put Spokane up, 2-0.

"I made some pitches when I had to," said Swiatowy.

Spokane bumps their record to 27-22 with the win.
