Spartans Stay Hot With 4-3 Win
|
Fans watched the Olympia Spartans and the Rogue Valley Dodgers fight to the finish.
Olympia beat Rogue Valley at Ballpark of Victoria, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to first baseman Yair Rodríguez. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Olympia, now 38-15, has won 10 straight games.
With Olympia leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Rodríguez hit a sinker from Ryan Glenn for a 2-run home run. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Spartans ahead, 4-0.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Olympia skipper Jim Todd. "I can't complain."
