The Gold Beach Sea Unicorns, despite a fine performance by Spokane pitcher Josiah Hemler, grabbed a 3-2 win in 16 innings at Avista Stadium. Hemler allowed no runs over 5.1 innings. The 4th-place Indians now sit at 31-21.

Gold Beach needed the clutch hitting of Wayne Weist to seal the deal. The catcher swatted a solo home run in the top of the 16th inning to put the Sea Unicorns on top, 3-2. For the game, Weist had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Weist called the extra-inning win a "confidence builder."
