Cascades Win Thriller, 6-4
|
The Vancouver Cascades electrified the crowd with a walk-off win.
The Vancouver Cascades beat the Seattle Mariners, 6-4, at Royal Port Stadium. The Cascades got a fine performance from designated hitter Juan Izquierdo, who was 3-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Vancouver reliever Jerome Logan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Adam Keef was saddled with the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Izquierdo hit a slider from Adam Keef for a 2-run home run. The Cascades, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Izquierdo told reporters after the game.
Despite the loss, Seattle still owns an impressive 20-4 record.
