Rattlers Clip Canucks in Tight Contest, 3-1
|
The Redmond Rattlers went home winners at Ballpark of Abbotsford, thanks in large part to starter Calvin McMahan. McMahan stifled the Abbotsford Canucks, enabling Redmond to grab the 3-1 win. Mohammad Farmer stitched up the save, his 2nd. Redmond has a record of 33-20, placing them second in the Northwest League South Division.
Redmond used a timely hit from Ed Stearns to get the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Rattlers ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
In postgame remarks, Stearns applauded his team's "toughness."
