Brien Steals Spotlight, But Last Laugh Belongs to Lake Elsinore
|
Cy Brien had a good game, but he could not keep the Lancaster JetHawks from falling, 5-4, to the Lake Elsinore Storm at Lake Elsinore Diamond. The Lancaster first baseman belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice in the loss. Erjan Bouma wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save. Lake Elsinore sits at 5-4.
The Storm got a big at-bat from third baseman Warren Schneckenburger. For the game, Schneckenburger went 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Lake Elsinore a 5-4 lead.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Lake Elsinore manager Kevin Cornell.
