Stampede Earn 6-5 Win Versus Storm
|
The San Bernardino Stampede dealt the Lake Elsinore Storm a 6-5 loss at Grainger Stadium. Rio Matlock was the star on offense. He was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. San Bernardino pitcher Theodore Vincent got the win, upping his record to 1-1. Max Junius got the loss. The win lifts San Bernardino to a record of 2-7.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Matlock hit a sinker from Max Junius for a run-scoring double. The Stampede, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"The ending was a real humdinger," Matlock told reporters after the game.
