Red Sox Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
The Erwin Mountaineers beat the Reidsville Red Sox, 5-3, at Ballpark of Edmonton. Vince Tribble went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. The 20-year old right fielder was a menace to Reidsville all day. With the loss, Reidsville sinks to 0-2.
Tribble had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Doug Ray, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Mountaineers a 5-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Tribble.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Tribble told the Erwin Citizen.
