Erasmus Blisters Danville
The Hampton Orioles stopped the Danville Braves by a score of 15-9 at American Legion Field, with the lion's share of the credit going to left fielder Chima Erasmus. The 23-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.

"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Erasmus said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."

Erasmus did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Braves.

"Not much that I can say," offered Danville manager Troy Bennett. "He just hammered the heck out of us."

Chima Erasmus doubled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.

A look at his season totals shows Erasmus with 1 home run, .571 BA, .613 OBP, 8 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
