The Blue Ridge Bulldogs thumped the Medicine Hat Stampede, 8-2, at Ballpark of Medicine Hat. Lance Bailey was a big reason his team got the win. Bailey was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Declan Lontine got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Stampede to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 2. Getting the save was Tucker Lindenfelser, his 1st.
Blue Ridge took a 4-2 lead on Bailey's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which he hit off Kent Leisen in the top of the sixth, propelled Blue Ridge to the win.
Bailey attributed the win to his team's "hyper resolve."
