Blue Jays Snatch Late Win
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays beat the Blue Ridge Bulldogs, 2-1. Bluefield pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Shad Ehrlich led the way. Christian Lee earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Eugene Stapleton earned the save for Bluefield, his 1st of the year.
It could have been a different outcome for Bluefield, had it not been for Dave Long, the 21-year old first baseman . Long contributed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put Bluefield up, 2-1.
"I made some pitches when I had to," said Ehrlich.
The Blue Jays, now 4-1, have hit the ground running this season.
