The Kinston Indians downed the Burlington Royals, 2-0, at Burlington Athletic Stadium. Stellar pitching by Shayne Frazier had a lot to do with it. The right-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Jim Cocroft finished the game for Kinston and earned his 1st save. The defeat makes Burlington 2-7.

The Indians got a big at-bat from third baseman Hunter Dublin. For the game, Dublin was 1-4 with a home run. In the top of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Kinston a 1-0 lead.

In postgame remarks, Dublin hailed his team's "mettle."
