Bulldogs Suffer One-Run Loss at Danville
|
Fans watched the Danville Braves and the Blue Ridge Bulldogs fight to the finish.
Chan Alomar was a major factor in the 3-2 Danville win over Blue Ridge. The Braves third baseman went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. The loss has the Bulldogs at 4-5.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Braves had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when catcher Edward Wiley hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Bertrand Thompson and made the score 2-0, Braves. Wiley went 1-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Alomar.
