Mets Fall to Blue Jays, 7-2
|
A good performance from left fielder Raleigh Springs helped the Bluefield Blue Jays defeat the Kingsport Mets, 7-2. Springs went 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Blue Jays. The win takes Bluefield to 5-1.
Dave Lyons, the 21-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Lyons contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put Bluefield up, 2-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Lyons said after the game.
