In a tightly-contested game between the Fayetteville Frogs and the Bristol Pirates, pitcher Zach Peterson was outstanding. The Fayetteville right-hander propelled his team's 2-1 win. The winner was Fayetteville reliever Yosep Villegas, now 1-1. The loser was Oliver Soto. With the win, Fayetteville climbs to 6-6.

Up to bat in the bottom of the ninth, 20-year old right fielder Zenaido Ramos had a chance to be the hero. Bristol pitcher Oliver Soto wanted to foil that plan. But with two outs, Ramos drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Frogs had themselves a thrilling win.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Eli Martin.
