JetHawks Drop Contest, 8-6, to Riverside
|
Despite a great performance by Lancaster designated hitter Aiden Curtis, the Riverside Red Wave defeated the JetHawks by the score of 8-6 at The Hanger. Curtis went 2-5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 6 runs and scored once. Wesley McCurry got the win, improving to 2-0. He worked 5 innings, giving up 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 4. Getting the save was Osoro Luis, his 4th.
In the top of the fifth, Riverside third baseman Zain Secrest had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Secrest stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 7-3, Riverside. For the game, he went 1 for 4. He drove in 2 runs.
Lancaster manager Dave Donnelly said: "Winning games at this level is tough. One thing here and one thing there will cause you to lose."
The win gives Riverside a record of 6-4.
