Mountaineers Deny Indians, 4-3
|
The Erwin Mountaineers racked up a win at Ballpark of Edmonton, bumping off the Kinston Indians, 4-3. Aiden Sarrels, who started for Erwin, pitched effectively for his team. The victory makes Erwin 7-4.
The Mountaineers got a big at-bat from right fielder Mateo Salazar. For the game, Salazar went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Erwin a 3-2 lead.
"Aiden's focus was outstanding. The way he handled every moment -- when there was a little trouble, he didn't lose his tempo or his rhythm," said Erwin manager .
