Blue Ridge starter Arnie Kinton put a stranglehold on the Erwin offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Bulldogs to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Kinton, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. Earning his 2nd save of the year was Bill Staggers.

In the bottom of the ninth, the Bulldogs had to halt a comeback by the Bulldogs. The score was 4-1, Blue Ridge, with no one out. Erwin had a runner on 1st. But Yainer Reyes, on a first pitch fastball from Bill Staggers, popped out.

The loss drops Erwin to 8-5.
