Visiting Blue Jays Beat Twins, 4-3
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays and Elizabethton Twins played an entertaining game for Joe O'Brien Field patrons.
Larry Davis had a good game, but he could not keep the Elizabethton Twins from falling, 4-3, to the Bluefield Blue Jays at Joe O'Brien Field. The Elizabethton second baseman was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. Ned Slaughter, credited with the win in relief, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 3.1 innings. The save was Miguel Suárez's, his 7th.
Sal Halliwell helped out the Bluefield cause in the top of the seventh inning with a 3-run home run. For the game, the catcher went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Very good win for our guys," said Halliwell.
The win hiked the Bluefield record to 14-7.
