Luke Salamat pitched well, but the Welch Miners still fell short, losing, 4-3, to the Reidsville Red Sox at Welch Fields. The winning pitcher was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Jeremiah Mayhew. He tossed 90 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits. Levi Temples earned the save for Reidsville, his 3rd of the year.

Reidsville used a clutch at-bat from Tiki Alexandrina to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Red Sox ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"If the personal accolades come, so be it," said Alexandrina. "I just want to win ballgames."

Reidsville goes to 14-8, Welch to 10-12.
