Pieper Propels Helena to 1-0 Win
A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Helena Brewers and Bluefield Blue Jays.

The Helena Brewers racked up a win at Bowen Field, bumping off the Bluefield Blue Jays, 1-0. Carson Pieper, who started for Helena, pitched effectively for his team. Malcolm Oteng recorded the save, his 2nd.

Pieper, who dominated for Helena, earned the victory to move to 1-0. He was in control the whole game, scattering 1 hit over 6 innings, while striking out 6. Bluefield batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"Winning never gets old," said Brewers manager Matt Mayberry.

Helena, now 9-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
