Danville Beats Burlington, 6-5
|
The Danville Braves bested the Burlington Sock Puppets by a score of 6-5, with second baseman Vincent Schmidt getting the main credit. On the day, Schmidt was 2 for 3 with a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Braves. With the loss, Burlington falls to 2-9.
Schmidt had a key at-bat for Danville early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and gave Danville an early 2-0 lead.
"We've had a tough go of it," said Burlington manager Jon Lopez. "But we'll snap out of this funk."
