Smokies Top Orioles, 4-2
|
The home squad pulled out a thrilling walk-off win.
The Hampton Orioles got a superb performance from pitcher Roberto Zamudio. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Harlan. The Smokies won the game, 4-2. Zamudio threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loss has the Orioles at 7-6.
Harlan won the game in the bottom of the 15th inning. With no outs and Braylon Ferreira on the mound for Hampton, second baseman Ryder Engler hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Smokies fans to their feet.
Engler told a Harlan Herald reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
