Mustangs Stick Ghosts with 3-1 Loss
|
The Billings Mustangs faced a tough opponent in Casper pitcher Benjamin Last, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Dehler Park by a final score of 3-1. Last went 7.1 innings and allowed 3 runs. Saul Byers, 2-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4.1 innings. Clinton DeWit recorded his 4th save for Billings.
Cayson Chmielowiec, who is tied for 5th in the PIO in extra base hits with 7, chipped in for Billings with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"I really like what we did out there today," Chmielowiec said after the game.
Billings is now 6-7.
