The Raleigh Cubs defeated the Burlington Royals, 6-3, in Appalachian League action at Burlington Athletic Stadium. Raleigh pitcher Roman Aguila had a standout performance. Nick Politi closed it out for his 2nd save. The last-place Cubs are now 4-13, the Royals 3-14.

Raleigh needed the clutch hitting of Jonathan McCrae to notch the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Cubs on top, 5-2. For the game, McCrae had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I can only hope we've hit rock bottom," lamented losing manager Miguel Jacobo in postgame remarks.
