Puello Socks It to Braves, Cracks 5 Hits
|
The Kinston Indians stopped the Danville Braves by a score of 12-2 at Ballpark of Kinston, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Ferdinand Puello. The 19-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Puello said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Puello did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Braves.
"Not much that I can say," offered Danville manager Tony Cerda. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Ferdinand Puello singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 7th.
This season, Puello is hitting .333 with 1 home run.
