Downbound Yankees Lose 16th Straight
|
Starting pitcher Gael West pitched well enough to help the Delco Jawns beat the Pulaski Yankees, 4-3. Delco reliever Rand Priestley was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Michael Muller. Delco has now won 6 straight.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Delco trailing 3-2, Julian MacLean hit a changeup from David Duran to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Jawns had a walk-off win.
"I can't say enough about Gael," said Delco manager Salvador Ferreira. "He stepped up when we needed him."
