Pirates Handle Rumblers, Nab 5-1 Win
|
The Bristol Pirates got a strong performance from pitcher Yorkis Molina. Soupy stymied the River City offense en route to a solid, 5-1 win at Devault Memorial Stadium. Molina, now 4-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The 4th-place Pirates have won 5 in a row.
The Pirates got a big at-bat from catcher Armand Molan. For the game, Molan was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave Bristol a 3-1 lead.
"Thought I threw pretty well and overall I felt good," said Molina.
