The Kingsport Mets locked up a win at Hunter Wright Stadium, knocking off the River City Rumblers, 2-0. On the mound for Kingsport was right-hander Nick Elder. He played a major role in the triumph. Kingsport is now 20-18, River City 16-22.

Elder scattered 1 hit over 6.2 innings for the Mets. With the win, Elder goes to 2-0 on the year with 22 strikeouts.

"Nick set the tone with an amazing pitching performance," said Kingsport manager Blake Nelson.
