Orioles Rebuff Indians, 6-4
The Hampton Orioles welcomed the Kinston Indians to an afternoon game at Hampton Stadium.

Hampton center fielder Scott Hall was a significant contributor in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Kinston Indians. He was 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 times for the Orioles. The win was credited to Apollo Kuhn in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Riley Gray took the loss. Picking up the save was 21-year old left-handed pitcher Julian Ellis.

The Orioles got a big at-bat from first baseman Wallace Soto. For the game, Soto was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Hampton a 5-4 lead.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Soto, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."

With the victory, the Orioles upped their record to 30-15.
