Blue Jays Wax Mets, 14-0
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays met little resistance from the Kingsport Mets, beating them, 14-0, at Hunter Wright Stadium. Eli Butler led the way. He went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for Bluefield. The 23-27 Mets have lost 18 consecutive games.
Bluefield used the hitting of Iván Rojas to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Blue Jays on top, 3-0. For the game, Rojas had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"Good pitching and timely hitting is a recipe for success," said Butler.
