Raleigh pinch hitter Alejandro Ortiz helped his team beat the River City Rumblers, 8-5. Ortiz went 1 for 1 for the Cubs. Jarlan Pinto picked up the win in relief. Jake Cathey took the loss for River City. Hunter Wells notched his 10th save of the season.

In the top of the eighth, the Cubs grabbed the lead when Ortiz hit his 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Jake Cathey made it 6-5, Raleigh.

"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Liam Roberts.

Raleigh's record now stands at 27-27, placing them 4th in the Appalachian League West Division.
