Orioles Find a Way to Win
|
Hampton overcame a superior effort from Lance McHardy to beat River City, 3-2, in 12 innings. The River City pitcher threw 7.0 innings of 1-hit ball. Hampton is 6th in the Appalachian League West Division with a record of 27-27.
Ben Marcus had a direct impact on the outcome. Marcus contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the 12th inning to put Hampton up, 3-2.
"It was a test of wills," said Grant Zygmont, the Hampton skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
