Despite a fine performance by right fielder Louie Hoffmann, the Kingsport Mets lost to the Elizabethton Twins, 6-4. Hoffmann was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Elizabethton is now 32-26.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Elizabethton. That's when Kip Smith hit a 3-run home run off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Otto Tripp to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"This wasn't a good win," said Smith. "It was a great win."
