Phil Higgins pitched a gem to lead Bluefield to victory over the Fayetteville Frogs, 9-0. Bluefield now owns a record of 32-30.

Higgins, who dominated for Bluefield, earned the victory to move to 5-4. He was in control the whole game, scattering 4 hits over 8.2 innings, while striking out 6. Fayetteville batters could never bunch up enough hits to produce a rally.

"I thought Phil threw the ball well across the board," said Bluefield manager Jack Larose.
