Good production from center fielder Ryder Mitchell helped the Bluefield Blue Jays topple the Harlan Smokies, 9-3. Mitchell went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Jays. Matthew Waldon picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-3 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 1 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 3 runs. The Blue Jays improved their record to 43-21 with the win over Harlan.

In the first inning, Mitchell had a 2-run home run for Bluefield. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Blue Jays on top, 2-0.
