Mets Take Down Braves, 3-2
|
The Kingsport Mets and Danville Braves played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Behind a solid performance from catcher Isaiah Stratton, the Kingsport Mets defeated the Danville Braves, 3-2. Stratton was 2 for 3 with 2 singles for the Mets. Nemo McIvor recorded his 2nd save for Kingsport.
Martin Saengthong drove in one run for Kingsport. The 23-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ethan DeMarest. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Danville manager Greg Jones. "The effort was great."
At 20-13, Kingsport is in third place in the Appalachian League West Division.
