The Delco Jawns could not turn a fine performance from second baseman Jake Rouff into a win. Instead, the Elizabethton Twins prevailed, 5-4. Rouff went 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. The winning pitcher was 20-year old left-handed pitcher Norman Eastwick. He tossed 109 pitches over 7.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 9 hits. Finn Winston finished the game for Elizabethton and earned his 11th save.
Tied up with the Jawns in the top of the fourth inning, the Twins got a boost from center fielder Paxton Grover. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Grover saw a first pitch cutter from Jude Esmond and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Elizabethton on top, 1-0.
"This team is real focused right now," said Elizabethton manager Toby Staiano.
Elizabethton, at 38-26, holds down second place in the Appalachian League West Division.
