Kingsport Mets starter Dedrick Allen hurled his team past the Bluefield Blue Jays, 4-0. Allen got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Allen allowed no runs. Nemo McIvor finished the game for Kingsport and earned his 6th save.
Kingsport used a well-timed hit by Carter West to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
Allen attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
At 25-15, the Mets find themselves in third place in the Appalachian League West Division.
