Martin Melendez made an impact in the 5-1 Blue Ridge win over Pocatello. Melendez, who is tied for 9th in the APP in stolen bases with 5, went 1-2 with 3 walks. Blue Ridge reliever Jayce Stark was the winner. His record is now 4-3. The losing pitcher was Nick L'Ami. Blue Ridge, now 26-15, holds down second place in the Appalachian League East Division.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Tavis Shorts? The Blue Ridge catcher had a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Bulldogs on top, 3-0. For the game, Shorts had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
