Down to Defeat Go Voyagers, 4-2
|
The Lethbridge Black Diamonds took Great Falls pitcher Nicky Park's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Centene Stadium. The final score had Lethbridge getting past the Voyagers, 4-2. Park went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 7. Marvin Thompson picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 8. On the season, he is now 2-2. Jackson McClintock earned the save for Lethbridge.
Lethbridge needed the clutch hitting of Jovan Sabo to seal the deal. The third baseman swatted a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Black Diamonds on top, 4-0. For the game, Sabo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Said losing manager Tristan Johnson: "Not taking anything away from them, but we swung the bats better than what it showed."
The last-place Black Diamonds bumped their record to 4-13.
