The Grand Junction Rockies got a sterling performance from left fielder R.J. Whitley, but the Great Falls Voyagers still prevailed, 5-4. Whitley was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. Had Edgar Mee not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Mee hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Voyagers.

Mee said, "Whether you hit the ball hard, you walk, you have a long at-bat, 10 or 12 pitches, or you hit a homer, you're just trying to do anything you can do to help the team win."
