7-1 Loss to Cannons Extends Welch Losing Streak
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 23-year old center fielder Martin Rose, the Calgary Cannons stopped the Welch Miners, 7-1. Leo Batiz got credit for the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 6.1 innings. The 'W' lifts Calgary's record to 28-21.
With Calgary leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Rose hit a splitter from Danielito Marroquin for a 3-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Cannons ahead, 4-0.
"We've hit a rough patch right now," said Welch skipper Chase Wood.
