Howard Johnson Field hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.

The Lethbridge Black Diamonds picked up a win at Howard Johnson Field, knocking off the Pulaski Yankees, 2-0. Starting pitcher Max Kennedy was a big reason why. Lethbridge reliever Duff Marbury picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Wade Benning shouldered the loss.

Xavier Montes drove in one run for Lethbridge. The 22-year old center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Brooks DeLira. It was his 16th RBI of the season.

Kennedy told a Lethbridge Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The 5th-place Black Diamonds lifted their record to 25-25.
