Black Diamonds Secure 5-2 Win

Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Lethbridge Black Diamonds and Cheyenne Chiefs.
The Lethbridge Black Diamonds rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher Abe Preciado to a win, beating the Cheyenne Chiefs, 5-2, at Howard Johnson Field. In 5.2 innings, Preciado surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run. Cristian Spotts wrapped it up, recording his 6th save.
The Black Diamonds got a big at-bat from catcher Wayne Patterson. For the game, Patterson was 1 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Lethbridge a 3-0 lead.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Patterson.
Lethbridge now has a record of 19-13 with the win.
