Cruz Excels, Elizabethton Blows Out Danville
The Elizabethton Twins topped the Danville Braves, 13-3, with left fielder Kelvin Cruz playing a big role. Cruz belted 3 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 5 for the Twins in the win. Elizabethton currently is in 6th place in the Appalachian League West Division at 26-27.

Elizabethton used the bat of Doug Simpson to capture the win. The second baseman jacked a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Twins ahead, 6-3. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a dandy.

"The name of the game is scoring runs," Cruz said. "We did a good job of that today."
