Orioles Zap Stampede, 2-0
|
The Hampton Orioles got a magnificent effort from pitcher Brandon Ledezma, who kept Medicine Hat hitters in check en route to a 2-0 Orioles win at Hampton Stadium. Ledezma got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 6.1 innings. Ledezma allowed no runs. Braylon Ferreira earned the save, his 4th, for the Orioles.
Hampton took a 2-0 lead on P.J. Alarcon's 8th home run of the season. The solo home run came off Medicine Hat pitcher Aaron Paterson in the bottom of the seventh.
Afterward, Orioles manager Manuel Ochoa was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
With the win, the Orioles have a record of 34-21.
