Silverados Fell Blaze, 9-3
|
Napa right fielder Henry Popielarz had 4 ribbies while helping his team defeat the Bakersfield Blaze, 9-3. Gerardo Samora picked up the win with 5.1 innings of work. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 2-0. Ken Balog picked up the save for Napa, his 2nd of the year.
In the bottom of the third, Napa first baseman Mario Yamagata had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and one out, Yamagata stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 1-0, Napa. For the game, he was 1 for 5.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Popielarz, "and then get after it again."
