In a low-scoring contest between the Pittsburg Diamonds and the Santa Cruz Cruisers, 23-year old left-handed pitcher Emiliano Picasso proved to be the difference. The Pittsburg left-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-1 Diamonds win. Jonas Cheng earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game. The win lifts Pittsburg to a record of 2-2.

Milo Rhodes had a direct impact on the outcome. Rhodes contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Pittsburg up, 2-1.

Rhodes attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
