The California Angels relied on the hitting of center fielder River Grote to stop the Portland Hops, 8-3. For the game, Grote was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 3 runs. Ricart Pena finished the game for California and earned his 3rd save. The Angels saw their win-loss record go to 23-12. At the same time, the Hops fell to 11-24.
