Reds, Chavez Deal Athletics 2-0 Setback
|
In a low-scoring contest, Cincinnati pitcher Joshua Chavez was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-0 win. Ethan Fowler converted his 11th save in 16 tries. The Reds, at 67-70, sit in 4th place in the National League Torres Division.
Chavez gave Cincinnati a first-rate performance. The 6-foot-1 left-hander permitted no runs on 3 hits over 7.2 innings of work.
"I tried to establish all my pitches early," said Chavez.
