Yankees Beat Braves, 4-2
|
The New York Yankees knocked off the Atlanta Braves, 4-2, at Yankee Stadium. Daryn Scott was a big reason New York won. The designated hitter was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. New York reliever Tony Calton picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Zach Kerwick took the loss. The 5th-place Yankees are 15-21.
With New York leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third, Scott hit a fastball from Zach Kerwick for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Yankees ahead, 4-0.
After the game, New York manager Nate Williams applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
