Cruisers Slap 4-2 Loss on JetHawks
|
The Hanger was the site of a competitive game between the Lancaster JetHawks and Santa Cruz Cruisers.
The Santa Cruz Cruisers beat the Lancaster JetHawks by a score of 4-2. Santa Cruz designated hitter Camden Jackson deserved the lion's share of the credit. Jackson was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Cruisers. Dave Curiel went 5 innings for Santa Cruz to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 2 runs. He scattered 4 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. His record improves to 1-0. Getting the save was Jayson Campos, his 3rd.
Jackson contributed in the top of the third. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Santa Cruz get the win.
After the game, Santa Cruz manager Jake Braithwaite applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The Cruisers, now 11-4, have hit the ground running this season.
