Houston got a decent performance from pitcher Jeraldo Zeledon, but it wasn't enough to beat the New York Yankees. New York won the Minute Maid Park contest, 6-2. Zeledon threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The winning pitcher was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Jeremiah Jackson. He tossed 94 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits. With the victory, the Yankees upped their record to 20-18.

New York used a clutch at-bat from Lyle Stephenson to capture the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Yankees ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"We had a nice day," said New York skipper Tony Medina.
